Suffolk Truck Crash Injures Two

Two people are recovering from injuries sustained in an accident in Suffolk this week. The November 7, 2017 accident on Route 58 occurred just after 10 AM. While it is not clear exactly what caused the wreck, we know that a pickup truck and a tractor trailer collided near the Pitchkettle Road exit. The tractor trailer was loaded with steel at the time of the wreck.

One of the victims was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The other is said to have non-life threatening injuries. It is unclear whether the victims were drivers or passengers of the trucks involved. No arrests have been made in connection to the wreck, but it remains under investigation.

We send our best wishes for speedy recoveries for both victims. As the investigation into the crash continues, perhaps we will learn more about what caused the wreck and who is to blame.

Trucks struggle to make sudden stops the way a car might, especially when they are loaded down with heavy freight. While it is not clear whether or not the steel on the tractor trailer was a factor in this wreck, it is certainly possible that the weight made it difficult for the vehicle to avoid a collision with the pickup truck.

We encourage the victims of this accident to reach out to our team of knowledgeable truck accident lawyers as soon as possible. Depending upon the details of the crash, they may be eligible for compensation from the at-fault driver.
